Ship Repair is seeking an experienced, highly motivated Fabrication
Project Manager to support our growing team in the company's
expanding field of fabrication. The candidate will be responsible
for overseeing and managing the technical project(s) and serves as
a liaison between the customer, program management, project team,
planning, craft management, quality, and other key stakeholders.
Prepares detailed project execution plans and identifies technical
and business resources needed. Reviews status of projects and
budgets, manages schedules and prepares status reports. Assesses
issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and
client-satisfaction goals and objectives. Provides technical and
analytical guidance to project team. Facilitates the development of
future opportunities by creating high level fabrication estimates
and plans as an integral part of the proposal efforts on new work.
Candidate will also model and demonstrate strong leadership in
Diversity, Equity and Inclusion as well as ethics. Further, our
Program Mangers act as leaders and initiators in Environmental and
Safety, ensuring team compliance with all company & OSHA-regulated
safety requirements/standards, and environmental regulations and
permit requirements. Performance for this position will be
evaluated based on the success of the overall project. Performance
will be measured against predetermined safety, quality, schedule,
and cost standards. Fabrication Project Manager will report
directly to the Fabrication Program Manager.Responsibilities
Maintain safe working conditions and
housekeeping of all areas of fabrication.Develops solutions to
complex problems, which require the regular use of ingenuity and
innovation. Ensures solutions are consistent with organization
objectives.Participates in project proposal development and
planning to determine period, funding limitations, and procedures
for accomplishing project, staffing requirements, and allotment of
available resources throughout various phases of project.Produces
project and portfolio management tools to enhance productivity.
Works closely with Planning, Scheduling, and Finance to establish
Earned Value controls for monitoring and tracking progress, status,
and performance for each contract. Develops and analyzes metrics to
drive behavioral changes and process improvements in
cross-functional areas of planning, cost performance, and schedule
performance to enhance profitability and long-term growth.
Responsible for change management including estimating growth and
new work. Communicates contract requirements, specifications, and
customer expectations to all departments to ensure incorporation
into the shipyard business plan for the project.Conducts project
team meetings as required to accurately determine the project
status and plan and initiate action plans for success.Integrates
with the shipyard's Operational Excellence (OE) program. Interfaces
with key OE leaders to share best practices and efficiency
opportunities. Collaborates closely with planning managers, craft
managers, Safety, Environmental, Quality Assurance and other
functional leads to capture, assess, disseminate, and
institutionalize lessons learned.Interpret Engineering / Design
plan requirements to develop a detailed build strategy.Determine
manufacturing process steps required to attain optimal workflow
through all machining, assembly, welding, and quality control work
center operations.Develop high level schedules overseeing the
workflow of the production and fabrication efforts. Establish
sequence and lead time of each operation to meet completion dates
according to production forecasts or customer work specifications
and drawing orders.Analyze and address production issues in a
timely manner.Identifies and assesses project risks, issues, and
opportunities, and develops resolutions and mitigations to meet
productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and
objectives.Reviews status reports prepared by project personnel and
modifies schedules or plans as required.Prepares project reports to
division and corporate management, highlighting shortfalls to plan
adherence, which may need management attention.Accountable for
contract execution in compliance with all state and federal safety
and environmental guidelines.Supports other duties and
responsibilities as assigned.Required Education, Experience, &
Skills
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in
Engineering, Welding, Project Management, Business Development, or
similar field or equivalent combination of education and
experience.Strong planning and project management skills, with
thorough knowledge of ship construction and steel fabrication
processes and sequences.Strong ability in reading fabrication
blueprints, drawings, and other shipbuilding technical
references.Proficient in the fabrication of panels, sub-assemblies,
outfitting, and erection of major units in fabrication work.Must
have strong communication skills. Regular requirements to use
written and oral communication skills; interact with managers,
staff, co-workers, and others encountered in the course of work;
ability to compose materials such as detailed reports and
work-related documents and communicate substantively about them
either verbally or in writing; communicate interactively & make
presentations effectively.Experience in estimating steel
fabrication projects. Must be proficient with Microsoft Office
(Word, Excel, Outlook & PowerPoint). Ability to work in a fast
paced, high-volume production environment.Ability to understand and
translate site capabilities.Must be physically and medically
qualified to wear required personal protective equipment.Must be
U.S. citizen and must be able to pass both company and customer
background checks.Meet all required medical screening.Must be able
to obtain and maintain Defense Biometric Identification System
"DBIDS" access card.Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

Construction Shipbuilding or Ship Repair experience.Experience in
heavy steel fabrication or construction.Experience in scheduling

writing experience.PMI certified Project Management Professional

solving.Pay InformationFull-Time Salary Range: $102200 -
$173700Please note: This range is based on our market pay
structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a
variety of factors including, but not limited to: business
considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as
well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and
