Overview:FTE: 1.0Shift Hours: 8:00AM-5:00PMDays of Week: MONDAY-FRIDAYUpon supervision, microscopically evaluates all types of cytology specimens submitted to the cytopathology laboratory. Screens cytologic material and recognizes abnormalities identified and renders an interpretation diagnoses using the laboratory information system; appropriate cases are sent to the Cytopathologists for final interpretation consideration. Assists Rapid-On Site Evaluations in multiple services including Bronchoscopy, Interventional Radiology, and surgical clinics. Performs appropriate record-keeping procedures and fulfills some of the duties of the cytopathology supervisor during that supervisor's absence. On rare occasions, prepares cytologic specimens for evaluation using established procedures.Qualifications:Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:Must have completed Cytotechnology training in a CAHEA approved program and/or qualify as outlined in Rules of the Department of Business and Professional Regulation as required for licensureOne year laboratory experience as a Cytotechnologist, preferredLicensure/Certification/Registration: Must be eligible for or possess either a temporary or current license as a State of Florida Clinical Laboratory Technologist in Cytology.
