safety, and quality of life. As a Vision Rehabilitation Specialist,
you'll provide expert instruction in activities of daily living,
vision loss adjustment, assistive technology, and low vision
strategies. Through one-on-one coaching and tailored support, you
will empower clients to navigate their environments confidently,
maximizing their ability to live independently. This role primarily
involves providing services across Alachua County, traveling to
clients' locations for personalized Instruction.

Responsibilities:
Deliver individualized training in activities of daily living to
clients with severe to total vision loss.
Offer expert guidance in the adjustment to vision loss, focusing on
emotional, mental, and physical adaptation.
Provide instruction on the use of assistive technologies and low
vision aids to enhance daily living.
Tailor services to each client's unique needs, ensuring safety,
independence, and improved quality of life.
Travel throughout Alachua County to provide in-home or
community-based training to clients.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including Orientation and
Mobility Specialists and other rehabilitation professionals.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Vision Rehabilitation
or a related field from an accredited institution.
Experience: A minimum of 350 hours of internship experience under
the supervision of a Certified Vision Rehabilitation Therapist,
Orientation and Mobility Specialist, Low Vision Therapist, or
Teacher of the Visually Impaired.
Licensure/Certification: Certification as a Vision Rehabilitation
Therapist (CVRT) from the Academy for Certification of Vision
Rehabilitation and Education Professionals (ACVREP) is required.
Certifications in Orientation and Mobility, Low Vision Therapy, or
as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired will also be considered.
Motor Vehicle Operation: Willingness and ability to operate a
vehicle for business purposes, as this is a "Frequent Driver"
position. A valid driver's license is required.
Additional Requirements: Must successfully pass an AHCA Level 2
background screening.
