Overview:FTE 1.0Shift Hours: 8:00AM-5:00PMDays of Week: MONDAY-FRIDAYThis position is defined as a professional assistant to the pathologist whose duties include grossing of specimens, gross photography, accessioning of surgical specimens, instruction of residents and medical students in handling gross surgical specimens. Performance of frozen sections and all other related duties. This Pathologist Assistant will work in a CLIA certified surgical grossing laboratory and will direct and assist in the daily workflow of the staff and house staff of the laboratory. Proper grossing at UF health, as a tertiary care center, requires proper specimen selection for the various tests being requested and for accurate diagnosis and frozen section performance. These tests may involve flow cytometry, microbiology, molecular diagnostics, cytogenetics, and frozen sections. Sample selection is critical to have the proper amount, type, and location.Qualifications:Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:Must meet qualifications for CLIA high complexity testing personnel.Option 1: Bachelors' or Masters' degree from an accredited American Association of Pathologists' Assistant programOption 2: Bachelors' degree from an accredited college/university and completion of NAACLS accredited Pathologists' Assistant program within the last 5 yearsOption 3: Medical degree (including foreign Masters level) or higher may substitute for Bachelors degree with five years of clinical experience in Anatomic Pathology and clinical experience within the past 24 monthsLicensure/Certification/Registration: American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP) certification preferred.Motor Vehicle Operator Designation: Employees in this position: Will not operate vehicles for an assigned business purposeJob Type: Full-timePay: $100,000.00 - $155,000.00 per yearBenefits:* 401(k)* 401(k) matching* Dental insurance* Employee assistance program* Health insurance* Life insurance* Paid time off* Referral program* Relocation assistance* Tuition reimbursement* Vision insuranceSchedule:* Day shift* Monday to FridayWork Location: In personby Jobble
